Client Alert: FFCRA

Client Alert: FFCRA

On March 18, 2020, Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) to address our country’s growing concerns and challenges surrounding the novel coronavirus and COVID-19.  Significantly, there are two (2) parts of FFCRA that should be noted by both employers and employees, the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (an expansion of FMLA).   FFCRA will provide for, expand, and require paid employee leave and tax credits for employers.  FFCRA will have a significant impact on both employers and employees in Southern Maryland.  If you’re a business owner employing fewer than 500 employees or you’re an employee affected by today’s health crisis, or you just have some questions and concerns regarding this new legislation, please call the attorneys of Ferrante, Dill & Hisle, LLC. We’re standing by to answer your questions and provide guidance during this difficult time.
