“Honest, direct communication with clients is crucial to provide responsive and effective representation.”

Nicholas grew up and worked in a small family-owned business from early childhood until he left to attend college at the University of Maryland. In fact, it was his desire to further contribute to his family’s business and love of problem-solving that eventually led Nicholas to law school at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Nicholas is a multi-faceted lawyer, having established practices across the areas of Small Business, Personal Injury and Criminal Law. After a clerkship for the Honorable Steven G. Chappelle in the Circuit Court for Charles County, Nicholas went on to represent the interests of large corporations and insurance companies throughout Maryland and D.C. Now he is able to apply not only his knowledge of how a small business works and operates to the cases he takes on, but how bigger corporations and insurance companies operate as well.

In his Personal Injury practice, Nicholas spends a lot of his time working one-on-one with his clients, combing through hundreds of pages of medical records, and relaying the most crucial information to insurers. Because he spent his early career representing the large insurance companies, Nicholas has a specific understanding of the way they evaluate claims and is able to apply knowledge at his clients’ advantage.  He understands how the different insurance policies (i.e. the other driver’s auto coverage, your auto coverage, health insurance, etc.) can be tapped to provide benefits to clients who require treatment but don’t have the money to pay out of pocket, and eventually to maximize the injury award.

Because of his years of courtroom experience, Nicholas is able to take a preemptive approach to the cases he retains in his Criminal Law practice. He has built and maintained a trustworthy relationship with prosecutors and law enforcement alike. He is able to identify early on any potential red flags for the judges and prosecutors on a case and establishes an action plan to minimize their impact.

If you’re building your own business from the ground up, if you’ve been injured at the hands of someone else’s negligence, or if you’ve made a mistake and need help sorting it all out, you need an attorney you can count on. Someone with a unique perspective of both sides of the coin; someone who has the trust and respect of the people who matter most; someone who makes calculated decisions based on experience and expertise. You need an attorney like Nicholas J. Ferrante.
