Kathleen Woell

Growing up in St. Mary’s County, Kathleen’s parents had foster children in their home which led Kathleen to want to work with children from troubled homes. After much debate over whether to enter the legal field or the social work field, Kathleen chose law.

Kathleen received her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University and her law degree, with honors, from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law.

While in law school, Kathleen worked at the Department of Social Services in Baltimore County as a law clerk, and practiced law as a Rule 19 attorney in the Family Law Clinic. In the Family Law Clinic, Kathleen represented impoverished clients in domestic violence hearings, as well as child custody and support matters.

The Family Law Clinic taught Kathleen the importance of client-centered counseling, case-theory driven representation, thoughtfulness, and intense case preparation. It is because of this approach and dedication to the community that Kathleen was awarded the Outstanding Student Award from the Clinical Legal Education Association.

Before coming to Ferrante & Dill, Kathleen practiced domestic law at a firm in Prince George’s County. She will provide support to the firm on domestic and civil cases, as well as to the Department of Social Services for Calvert County.
